Abstract

Heterocyclic compounds have a wide presence in widely used chemical structures. For example, we can mention nucleic acids, a wide range of drugs, alkaloids in plants, many natural and artificial colors, most biomass such as cellulose and related structures. Pyrroles are an important class of heterocyclic compounds that are present as key structures in natural compounds, bioactive compounds and conductive materials. Pyrroles are widely recognized as biologically active scaffold possessing diverse nature of activities and featuring different pharmacophores in a pyrrole ring system leading to the formation of more active compounds. Pyrroles exist in the structure of many drugs, natural compounds, biological and bioactive molecules. Now, in this article, we want to discuss a series of biological and medicinal compounds that have pyrrole in their structure, and discuss the use of these compounds in various fields and the methods presented for their synthesis.
